The goal of the Public Education Division is to provide fire and life safety education programs to the community. Our Safety Education Team is comprised of more than thirty firefighters and now community volunteers and are responsible for all the public education programs. Here's a list of our most active programs:
ATV Safety (community events and classroom presentations)
Babysitting (12-16 year olds. offered in the summer. includes CPR, child care fire extinguishers, resume writing and more! fee required with registration)
Bike Safety (FREE helmets at our Administrative Center only)
Booster Seats (FREE booster seats at our Administrative Center only)
Characterization (Fire Prevention Month effort in schools during October)
CPR Training (offered monthly. fee required with registration)
Drowning Prevention (FREE Water Watcher Tags. Pool, open water and bathtub safety)
Fire Extinguishers (FREE with our Home Safety appointment)
Fire Safety Trailer (groups can tour kid-size trailer to reinforce fire safety behaviors. call to schedule)
Home Safety (FREE visits, call our Administrative Center for an appointment)
Mini-Musters (second graders field events)
School Safety Lessons (available upon request for all grades and many safety topics)
Senior Citizen Fire Academy's (FREE and offered in the winter months to participants 55+)
Smoke Alarms (FREE with our Home Safety appointment)
Vial of Life (FREE and available at any fire station)
Youth Firesetter Intervention (safety education classes by appointment for children involved in firesetting and their families)
